“A robot giving a presentation to human students” — By Mage with Stable Diffusion 2.1

I had the pleasure of presenting a talk to students at my old high school earlier this year. The topic I chose to discuss was: “The impact of AI on the future of developers”. I decided to let AI do most of the work for me, as it was the perfect opportunity to demonstrate the potential of AI. It took less than 30mins to create a presentation I could talk to with the help of Tome.

Introducing Tome

It was as simple as providing Tome with the prompt: “The impact of AI on the future of developers.”. It generated about 7 slides, which were contextually relevant and followed a very logical flow that helped me shape the storyline. Surprisingly, it achieved the desired scaffolding on the first attempt. I only had to refine the presentation slightly to make it more personable, which took no time. You can see the full presentation here.

What followed the presentation was inspiring

The students really got excited by the concepts I shared. They found the application of AI to assist with their homework assignments suspiciously intriguing. Toward the end of the talk, I challenged them to suggest some prompts.

Revving Up the Latest Bugatti Models

The first prompt someone from the class suggested was: “The latest Bugatti models”. See the full presentation here.

Barbie: The Unstoppable Force in the Model Industry

The second prompt from a student: “The impact of Barbie on the fashion industry”. See the full presentation here.

The Gangster Wasp

A short while after discovering this tool I got stung by a wasp while outside with some friends. Almost immediately after the incident, my friend made a joke, probably to stop me from crying and ruining our peaceful afternoon.

He said the wasp was on his way to smoke a cigarette after flying away. This inspired me to check how Tome will generate this story. The prompt was: “Gangster wasp stings human and smokes a cigarette”.

We were amazed by the outcome, and my tears of pain quickly turned into tears of laughter. See the full presentation here.

Build a powerful story with any type of content

Your narrative deserves more than text and images. Easily share a prototype, add 3D renderings, trim a video, or embed live content from the web to make your point more compelling.

Frictionless creation meets magic design

Focus on your idea, and Tome will take care of the rest. Drag-and-drop creation, responsive pages, and one-click themes mean you don’t waste time aligning content or applying brand colours.

Live, interactive content from the web

Embed anything from the web, in one place. Live integrations with your favourite tools like Figma let you showcase your existing work as a connected part of your story.

Video narration that brings your story to life

Native video recording lets you talk through a nuanced point or simply add a personal touch to your story, even async.

Easy sharing, for any screen

Share a link to your tome with just one click. Tomes are designed to fit any device, so viewers aren’t stuck squinting or pinching to zoom.

Made to work, wherever you work

With the Tome iOS app, you can seize a spark of inspiration or make a last-minute edit right before the meeting. Your work syncs seamlessly across devices.

Giving back to the community

I would challenge everyone in the industry to share their learnings with the community. Not just virtually but especially in person. The lack of industry exposure and insight during the development phases is shocking. And as a student, you are expected to make some very challenging decisions about your future.

I enjoyed the opportunity to share my experience with the students and found it quite rewarding. Reach out to schools or universities in your area, and they will definitely appreciate the gesture!
